Lady Angelique Du Bois

Lady Du Bois is a Countess in the London Court. She is a Lady in name only as her conduct is anything but ladylike. She sleeps around with members of the court to increase her status and carries on affairs with married Lords. Those that are married or engaged are her favorite targets as they present an interesting chase. She comes off as polite and rather teasing at first but if someone catches her interest the flirting increases. She once targeted John Rolfe as her prize after a former friend of his introduced them. Once she heard about his relationship with Pocahontas, her interest in him increased. She invited him to her home under the pretense that there would be others present for a dinner she was hosting but it was a trap. John tried escaping but fell down the stairs and injured his ankle. She put on an act of being upset that he ran away from her after her butler placed him in a guest room after his carriage had been sent away. She tried to kiss him and John ran again despite his limp. So desperate to escape he slid down the banister and limped as fast as he could home. His ankle had become swollen an alarming degree. His friendship with the Lord who introduced them ended when he was made fun of and it was insinuated that he was frightened of a mere woman and was in fact a "peacock" (Homosexual). Though John avoided her, Angelique did not stop trying to pursue him. She became enraged and blinded with jealousy when John Rolfe introduced his intended. Princess Desmoira to King James and Queen Anne and sought their blessing. Desmoira charmed the entire court and many of Angelique's admirers abandoned her in favor of the Princess. There is a bitter rivalry between Princess and Countess and the Princess has made it quite clear she is not pleased with Angelique's behavior and keeps John well away and clearly stakes her claim on her future husband. Sparks of hate and jealousy fly between the two and Angelique will stop at nothing to discredit the Princess and steal John. How this rivalry will turn out remains to be seen.
